Rebel Wilson and Charles Melton Cast in Road Trip Comedy “K-Pop: Lost in America”

K-pop music experienced such a huge boom in the past few years that it was just a matter of time before became a subject of a major Hollywood movie. K-Pop: Lost in America will make you fall in love with this music genre all over again, and it’s set to star Rebel Wilson and Charles Melton.

According to the official logline shared by Deadline, this road trip comedy follows a breakout K-pop group mistakenly stranded in Waco, Texas, days before they’re set to make their American debut at Madison Square Garden.

“Left with no phones, no money, and no transportation, the group must overcome their differences and a host of crazy obstacles to make it to New York City. Along the way, they learn to love Texas, and Texas learns to love them back,” reads the film’s logline.

South Korean filmmaker JK Youn is set to direct the film, and the current draft of the script was written by Karen McCullah & Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith.

The Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson most recently appeared in the Netflix comedy Senior Year, and she’s currently attached to The Almond and the Seahorse. Charles Melton is best known for playing Reggie Mantle in Riverdale, and his credits also include The Sun Is Also a Star, Bad Boys for Life, and Mainstream.
