Worry not, old chaps, Sir Michael Caine isn’t going anywhere.
With a career spanning almost 70 years, they don’t come more well-renowned than the South London actor. Yet it seemed as though we may be bidding Caine farewell based on a series of recent comments…
“There’s not exactly scripts pouring out with a leading man who’s 88,” the Tenet star told the BBC.
Regarding his upcoming role in the comedy Best Sellers, Caine even more worryingly said, “It has turned out to be my last part, really… I haven’t worked for two years and I have a spine problem which affects my legs so I can’t walk very well.”
But before we start rewatching all his classics and holding back tears, the Oscar winner confirmed that he’s far from done. “Regarding retirement, I’ve spent over 50 years getting up at 6 a.m. to make movies, and I’m not getting rid of my alarm clock!” Caine said in a statement.
We have a feeling he’ll be popping up in Christopher Nolan’s next film…
