Replica adds to its cast.
The movie has added to its call sheet casting Alexandra Grey, Jeremy Luke, and Mickey Rourke. The three will star opposite the previously cast Nicholas Turturro, Noel Gugliemi, Naomi Grossman, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Alexander James Rodriguez, and Leila Almas Rose.
Replica, which is due to start filming in Los Angeles this month, was penned by Paul Tully, who also helms the movie. Set to produce are Rose, Jaime Zevallos, Brian Metcalf, Freddy Giorlando, and Ryan Olson, with Micaiah Robnett serving as executive producer.
According to Deadline, which was first to report the news, the film will follow Tonya (Grey), “an African American trans woman who has journeyed cross-country from her small Mississippi hometown to California in pursuit of her dream to be an actress.” While traveling, she somehow finds herself stranded in the suburbs of LA, where she gets involved with some dogy people after meeting Mickey (Luke), a low-level meth dealer.
