Robert De Niro and Shia LaBeouf have been cast in the forthcoming crime tale, After Exile.
Deadline also reports that Joshua Michael Stern is set to direct from a script by Anthony Thorne and Michael Tovo, based on Tovo’s life story.
After Exile follows Mike Delaney (LaBeouf), an ex-con who, after being released from prison for killing an innocent man after a violent robbery, must re-enter his old life with his father (De Niro) in an attempt to save his younger brother from a life of drugs and crime.De Niro will play Ted Delaney, an ex-con who also suffers from alcoholism and guilt.
De Niro is starring in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman alongside Al Pacino. You can see him in Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker. LaBeouf is currently starring in the film Peanut Butter Falcon.
