Robert Eggers is no stranger to spine-tingling horror movies, and his next one is shaping up to be the scariest one yet. The acclaimed director is working on the remake of the classic horror Nosferatu, and the first look at this star-studded project is finally here.
Eggers recently sat down with Empire Magazine to discuss this highly-anticipated movie in their recent 2024 Preview issue. Remakes often face a lot of resistance from the audience, but everyone’s hopeful given Eggers’ amazing track record and the film’s A-list cast.
Bill Skarsgård, who previously brought Stephen King’s Pennywise the Clown to life in two IT movies, is leading the cast as Count Orlok/ Nosferatu. The first look picture offers a glimpse of the petrified Lily-Rose Depp, but Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Willem Dafoe, Simon McBurney, and Ralph Ineson also star.
While discussing his latest project with Empire, Eggers promised a terrifying new take on the classic vampire story.
“It’s a scary film. It’s a horror movie. It’s a Gothic horror movie. And I do think that there hasn’t been an old-school Gothic movie that’s actually scary in a while. And I think that the majority of audiences will find this one to be the case,” said Eggers.
