Rosa Salazar rose to prominence with the titular role in hit blockbuster Alita: Battle Angel, and she’s ready to add another impressive project to her expending filmography. This rising star will be in charge of leading the Netflix original Brand New Cherry Flavor.
According to its official logline, this eight-episode series will tell the story of “an aspiring film director in the sun-drenched but seamy world of 1990 Los Angeles embarks on a mind-altering journey of supernatural revenge”.
Salazar isn’t the only actress attached to this project. Brand New Cherry Flavor already rounded out its supporting cast. She’ll be joined by Catherine Keener (Get Out), Eric Lange (Escape at Dannemora), Jeff Ward (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and Manny Jacinto (The Good Place).
Rosa Salazar is one of the biggest breakout stars of 2019, and her role in Alita: Battle Angel isn’t the only reason why. She also led the cast of Amazon’s first original animated series Undone, which was met with overwhelming critical acclaim.
Salazar’s previous projects include TV shows Parenthood and American Horror Story, and dystopian franchises The Divergent and Maze Runner.
