One of the most eagerly anticipated revivals in the next year just got its premiere date. ABC announced that Roseanne revival will premiere on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. The network also revealed that Roseanne will start off with a one-hour long episode and then it will air in the regular time-slot (8-8:30 p.m.) from April 3.

“With the inimitable Roseanne at its epicenter, fresh stories that tackle today’s issues and even more laughs from a brilliant cast and crew that haven’t missed a beat, audiences old and new will celebrate the homecoming of America’s favorite working-class family,” said the network in a statement following the announcement.

Roseanne originally aired on ABC from October 1988 to May 1997 with Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Sara Gilbert in the main roles. The show was an immediate hit, being the most watched television show in the United States in 1989 and 1990. After the initial nine seasons of the show ended, Barr was trying to get the show or some of the characters back on TV. After the revival of the show was shopped to various networks and streaming services, ABC finally greenlit the show in May 2017.

“The Conners’ joys and struggles are as relevant—and hilarious—today as they were then, and there’s really no one better to comment on our modern America than Roseanne,” said ABC’s Channing Dungey at the time.

Besides the majority of the main cast, some of the notable guest stars also confirmed their participation in the revival. The Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki is set to reprise his role of David Healy in one of the episodes, while Estelle Parsons and Sandra Bernhard also signed in to make a return.
