Legendary is plotting a live-action/animation hybrid film Animal Friends and they set an impressive all-star cast for this project. Ryan Reynolds, Jason Momoa, Vince Vaughn, and Aubrey Plaza landed lead roles in this promising road trip movie.

Animal Friends hails from Emmy-winning director Peter Atencio (The Machine), and it’s been described as an R-rated road trip adventure. Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider wrote the script, with plot details still being kept under wraps.

Ryan Reynolds most recently starred opposite Will Ferrell in Apple’s holiday musical comedy Spirited, and he’s getting ready to return as Wade Wilson in Deadpool 3. He’s also attached to John Krasinski’s If and Paramount’s comedy Boy Band.

Jason Momoa’s recent credits include Slumberland and The Last Manhunt, and we’ll soon get to see him in blockbusters Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom and Fast X. Vince Vaughn recently wrapped Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey and he’ll next appear in indie drama Easy’s Waltz alongside Al Pacino, Michelle Monaghan, and Simon Rex.

As for Aubrey Plaza, she’s fresh off the success of the second season of The White Lotus and her acclaimed role in Emily the Criminal. She recently finished filming Francis Ford Coppola’s sci-fi epic Megalopolis and is gearing up for her role in Disney+’s Marvel series Agatha: Coven of Chaos.
