We’re always in the mood for a new comedy with Ryan Reynolds in the lead role and he has another one on the way! The Deadpool superstar was cast as the lead in the upcoming Paramount Pictures film Boy Band.

If you’re wondering what this project is all about, we’re sorry to disappoint you, but the plot details are being under wraps. That shouldn’t stop you from keeping your hopes high since Reynolds himself wrote the script with Jesse Andrews (Me & Earl and & Dying Girl) from his own original story.

Reynolds will also serve as one of the film’s producers through his company Maximum Effort, along with his frequent collaborator Shawn Levy of 21 Laps Entertainment. Joining forces with Paramount is a no-brainer for the actor since he recently signed a first-look deal with the studio, and will soon appear in their fantasy comedy IF directed by John Krasinski.

Reynolds has been pretty busy lately, and we’ve seen him play lead roles in the Netflix sci-ci comedy The Adam Project and the Christmas musical Spirited last year. He’s also attached to the third Deadpool film, directed by Shawn Levy, which will see Hugh Jackman return as Wolverine.
