Avengers: Infinity War is setting box office records left and right, and will go down as one of the greatest superhero movies ever made. But, can you just imagine how much more awesome would the movie be if Deadpool was in it. Well, it’s not like he didn’t try.

Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed the character in 2016’s Deadpool and the upcoming sequel, decided to congratulate the Avengers on their massive box office success via his Twitter profile and also share the rejection letter Deadpool received from the superhero team.

“From a guy who never knows when to quit, I’m glad you guys never did. Congrats #Avengers.”

The Avengers, however, were not so kind to Deadpool. The rejection letter, signed by Tony Stark (Iron Man) and dated April 14, 2012, says that the foul-mouthed superhero is not welcomed at all.

“Re: Joining the Avengers,” reads the letter. “No. Absolutely not. Go bother Prof. X. No.”

Although he missed out on Avengers: Infinity War, Deadpool will still get his chance to impress the moviegoers when Deadpool 2 arrives in theaters on May 18, 2018. The movie will see Deadpool forming his own super team called the X-Force, trying to protect young mutant Russell from the time-traveling soldier Cable. Majority of the cast from 2016’s original will return for the sequel including Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder). They will be joined by Josh Brolin (Cable), Zazie Beetz (Domino), and Terry Crews (Bedlam) among others.
