Sam Smith spent his childhood listening to Demi Lovato’s music, and they finally got a chance to collaborate with her in the new single “I’m Ready”.
The Jora Frantzis-directed video sees the two hit-makers taking part in a series of Olympic events alongside several famous drag stars, including RuPaul’s Drag Race contestants Valentina and Gigi Goode.
“I’m Ready” serves as the lead single from Smith’s upcoming third studio album, which currently doesn’t have a title or a release date, after the singer decided to postpone its release and make a series of changes and additions.
Smith has been a huge fan of Lovato years before their first collaboration, and they praised the former Disney star in her recent Harper’s Bazaar cover story.
“I feel like everyone knows Demi because she’s so open. I am enamored by her strength and willingness to tell her story, and also her openness about still not being perfect and still learning in front of everyone,” said Smith.
