If you’ve been patiently awaiting Sam Smith’s new album, you’ll have to wait a little bit longer. The singer recently announced their decision to postpone the release of their new record in the face of current events, in addition to changing its title.

Smith’s third studio album, titled To Die For was supposed to come out on May 1st, but the singer decided to change plans because its title and imminent release didn’t feel right.

“I have done a lot of thinking the last few weeks and feel that the title of the album and imminent release doesn’t feel right so I have come to the decision to continue working on the album and make some important changes and additions,” the Grammy-winning artist wrote in a statement.

Smith also promised that they intend to release a new album this year, and surprise us with some new music in the meantime. Some of the songs from this record we’ve already got to hear include “How Do You Sleep?”, “I Feel Love”, “To Die For” and the Normani collaboration “Dancing with a Stranger”.
