The rumors about Sam Smith and 13 Reasons Why star Brandon Flynn being more than just friends have been circulating for a few weeks now. Everything started when the two were seen kissing on the streets of New York, earlier this month. Now, Sam Smith has decided to address the rumors and admit that he is no longer single. Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Smith has discussed many things with Ellen including his relationship status.
“No, I’m not [single], which is crazy,” Smith said after DeGeneres asked him about his relationship status. “It’s weird bringing out an album and not being single. Because when I brought out In the Lonely Hour I was so lonely. But now I’m singing songs about another guy, I’m quite happy.”
Smith said that he dedicated four or five songs to Flynn, all of which will be present on his new album titled The Thrill of It All. He went on to joke how he had to kiss a lot of men in order to find love again.
Speaking of Smith’s new album, the official release date has been set for November 3rd, 2017. We already had the chance to hear the lead single from the album “Too Good at Goodbyes” in September, while another song titled “Pray“ was released in October. The Thrill of It All will feature a variety of collaborators including producer Timbaland, group Clean Bandit, and Adam Lambert. Smith recently spoke about the new songs and stated that he feels they show his growth and confidence.
“I think they show my growth, my confidence. I feel like they show me. They show the gay guy I’ve become” said Smith.
