Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola Reveals Why She Wasn’t Part of “Jersey Shore Family Vacation”

Jersey Shore is making its return to MTV in April with a brand new special titled Jersey Shore Family Vacation. In the special, the cast heads to Miami bringing along their families. One notable exception from previous seasons is that we won’t get to see Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. Sammi declined to return for the special and has now finally decided to reveal her reasons.

“I have chosen not to join the show this season because I am at a completely different place in my life right now focusing on my businesses and relationship,” Sammi wrote in a statement posted on her Instagram profile. “I am not the same person as I was when I was 22. At 31, I am currently extremely happy in every aspect of my life and want to avoid potentially TOXIC SITUATIONS.”

Still, the 31-year-old admitted that it was a hard decision and stated that she is grateful for everything Jersey Shore brought her.

“However, it was a difficult decision as I love my roomies,” she explained. “I’ve decided to focus on me, my future, and what truly makes me happy. I will forever be grateful to Jersey Shore and everything it has brought to me! I’ve just decided to live my life for me these days.” You can read the full statement below.

After being the part of the Jersey Shore for almost five years, Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola decided she won’t pursue her career as a reality TV star further. She instead launched her own perfume line in 2011, hosted a podcast Just Saying, and opened a boutique Sweetheart Styles.

Although Sammi isn’t there, Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio, Jenni “JWOWW” Farley, Vinny Guadagnino, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, and Deena Nicole Cortese will make sure to bring you everything you love about Jersey Shore.
