Peacock is currently plotting a Muhammad Ali series Fight Night, and its cast is shaping up to be as amazing as it gets. The acclaimed actor Samuel L. Jackson joined this promising project in the role of underworld kingpin Frank Moten, who was known as the Black Godfather.

Fight Night will center on Ali’s historic defeat of Jerry Quarry, which went down in history for all the wrong reasons. The fight happened after Ali was banned from boxing for refusing to enter the military draft, and hundreds of guests who attended it were robbed at gunpoint at an afterparty, remembered as one of the largest armed robberies in Atlanta.

In addition to Jackson, this series will also star Kevin Hart in an unspecified role, and he’s also coming on board as a producer. Jason Horwitch and Shaye Ogbonna will serve as showrunners, drawing inspiration for this project from Ogbonna and Will Packer’s eponymous iHeartPodcast.

Samuel L. Jackson most recently returned as Nick Fury in MCU’s latest film The Marvels, in addition to leading the Disney+ mini-series Secret Invasion. He’s attached to multiple other projects, including Matthew Vaughn’s star-studded action flick Argylle and animated comedy The Garfield Movie.
