Doja Cat already joined forces with some of our favorite recording artists working today, and she just added another name to the list. She teamed up with Saweetie in their new single “Best Friend” and the playful music video for this song really lives up to its title.
The Dave Meyers-directed video shows the two rappers having the time of their lives by each other’s side. They are shown hanging out together by a swimming pool, trying on different outfits, going to the clubs, dancing around, driving a bejeweled luxury car, celebrating their friendship, and hyping each other up.
Before its official release on January 7th, “Best Friend” was prematurely made available on Apple Music and Spotify. Saweetie’s record label Warner Records promptly removed it after the singer expressed her disappointment in regards to premature release that wasn’t in accordance with her own rollout plans.
“Best Friend” will be featured on Saweetie’s upcoming debut album Pretty Bi—h Music, scheduled to be released later this year. It will also include previously released singles “Tap In” and “Back to the Streets”, featuring Jhené Aiko.
