The first images for the new Scream movie are here and we’re getting a look at some familiar faces as well as new characters.
The fifth movie in the horror franchise by Wes Craven has provided new images with lots of phones, a callback, and how Ghostface calls his victims before committing crimes. The classic suburban background we’ve come to know from the other films is also present and the cast members look terrified.
The highlight of the images is the fan favorites from the previous installments which include characters Neve Campbell as final girl Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as journalist Gale Weathers, Marley Shelton as Sheriff Judy Hicks, and David Arquette’s lawman Dewey Riley.
Roger L. Williams and Marley Shelton are also returning. New casts include Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Jack Quaid, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner, Dylan Minnette, and Sonia Ben Ammar.
This is the first installment in the franchise that Craven didn’t direct. Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett helmed the film. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick wrote the film and previous screenwriter Kevin Williamson executive produced.
Scream premieres in theaters on January 14, 2022.
