“Scream” Reboot is In Works

The forthcoming fifth iteration of the 90s slasher movie has found its directors. 

The reboot of Scream will be helmed by Ready or Not filmmakers Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. The pic is being developed by Spyglass Media Group. 

The original 1996 horror film was directed by Wes Craven from a script by Kevin Williamson. It starred Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott as the target of the Ghostface killer, with Courteney Cox and David Arquette co-starring in the four-film franchise.

The original and its three sequels released in 1997, 2000 and 2011earned $608 million in worldwide box office. 

Spyglass confirmed no plot details and it is unclear whether the forthcoming fifth iteration will be a reboot or a continuation of the story.
