The Goldbergs have been making the ABC audience laugh for an entire decade, but all good things must come to an end. After 10 years on the air, ABC announced they’re pulling the plug on this family sitcom and that the current tenth season will be its last.

The Goldbergs centers on the adventures of the titular family in the Philadelphia suburb of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania during the ’80s. Its ensemble cast includes Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sean Giambrone, Troy Gentile, Hayley Orrantia, George Segal, and Jeff Garlin.

Craig Erwich, president of ABC Entertainment, announced the show’s cancelation in an official statement and said they’re proud of the 10 years we were able to spend with The Goldbergs.

“This is an incredible team and we’re so thankful for the joy and entertainment they brought to so many over this time. We look forward to celebrating their final chapter along with the fans in the weeks ahead,” said Erwich.

The cancelation of The Goldbergs is quite bittersweet for its fans, but this show had a good run. It’s the longest-running live-action network comedy series currently on the air, and one of the rare sitcoms in recent years to reach a 200-episode run.

The final season of The Goldbergs premiered on ABC on September 21, 2022, and it will end its run on May 3, 2023.
