Season 2 of “The Night Manager” in the Works With Tom Hiddleston

Tom Hiddleston in "The Night Manager"

It’s almost been seven years since The Night Manager ended its run and we’re finally getting another chapter of this intriguing story. The second season of the acclaimed crime drama is currently in development and Tom Hiddleston is set to return in the lead role.

The Night Manager was conceived as a modern-day adaptation of John le Carré’s novel of the same name. It centers on a former British soldier Jonathan Pine, who finds himself entangled in the world of illegal arms sales while working as a night manager at a luxury hotel in Cairo.

The second season is being developed under the codename Steelworks, and Deadline reports it will receive a two-season order, but Amazon and BBC are yet to make things official. David Farr will return to write Season 2, which will film later this year in London and South America, and reportedly see Jonathan Pine face a new deadly challenge after being informed that the British arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie) was killed.

Tom Hiddleston, who played the titular role, is set to return in the second season, but no news yet on the rest of the star-studded cast, which included Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, David Harewood, Elizabeth Debicki, and Tobias Menzies.
