Season 3 of Euphoria is supposed to start filming really soon, and the show might look quite different once it comes back. Costume designer Heidi Bivens recently discussed its future with Vogue and revealed that the upcoming third season could future a five-year time jump.

Nothing is official just yet because it all comes down to the creator Sam Levinson and his vision, but it’s possible we’ll catch up with our favorite characters five years into the future once Euphoria comes back.

“I’m really excited to read the scripts. There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore… Knowing Sam’s brain, it’s gonna be exciting, and he will challenge all of us, because he won’t want to repeat himself,” Heidi Bivens told Vogue.

Even though Euphoria primarily focuses on a group of teenagers dealing with love and loss in the fictional town of East Highland, California, a time jump would make sense in the grand scheme of things. Euphoria was often criticized for its exaggerated portrayal of Gen-Z, and viewers pointed out that some of the storylines would make more sense if the characters were older.

Bivens also revealed that Season 3 will most likely kick off production in June in Los Angeles, after a lengthy delay due to Sam Levinson’s commitment to the HBO show The Idol.
