Fans of History’s hit series Vikings saw its story continue with Netflix’s sequel Vikings: Valhalla, but its final chapter is just around the corner. This historical drama series will return for its third season next year, but this will also mark its final chapter.
Vikings: Valhalla premiered on Netflix last year, and it took us to England, over 100 years after the events of the original series. It saw the descendants of the Vikings fighting for survival and clashing both with England’s natives and between themselves.
Creator Jeb Stuart confirmed the show’s cancelation, while also adding he’s excited to take Vikings: Valhalla and its heroes to new heights once the series returns for Season 3.
“I am so grateful to have had three seasons to tell the stories of Leif, Harald, and Freydis. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to show the evolution of how three of the most famous Vikings became the icons we know today and we have done just that,” said Stuart in a statement to IGN.
The third season of Vikings: Valhalla will premiere on Netflix next year, and it will star Sam Corlett, Frida Gustavsson, Leo Suter, Bradley Freegard, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, Caroline Henderson, Laura Berlin, and David Oakes.
