After taking us to Hawaii in Season 1 and Italy in Season 2, the masterminds behind The White Lotus are ready to explore another beautiful destination. Mike White will reportedly head to Thailand with his cast and crew to film another chapter of the acclaimed anthology series.

Variety confirmed that White is plotting a Thailand-set Season 3, which doesn’t come as a shocker given everything that he said about the show’s future so far.

“The first season we highlighted money and then the second season is s-x and I think the third season, it would be maybe a kind of satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality,” White previously told Variety.

Executive producer David Bernad also hinted at a similar setting in an interview with Deadline, saying they’re hoping that Season 3 will be their “chance to make something happen” in Asia.

White is yet to choose a specific location, but if he continues the trend of shooting the show at Four Seasons hotels, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui, and Four Seasons Bangkok are the only four properties available in Thailand.

The White Lotus won ten Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globes over its two-season run. Each chapter of this anthology series focuses on a new group of characters spending a week at a luxurious high-end resort.
