The Good Fight is heading for its final round.

Producers of the legal drama have announced that the show’s upcoming sixth season will be its last. The sixth season run marks one less than its predecessor, The Good Wife, which concluded after seven seasons.

Robert and Michelle King say that they decided to end the Christine Baranski-led series after finishing Season 5.

“I would say it was at the end of last season, we kind of knew that the double duty of Evil and The Good Fight was burning the candle at both ends, but we also saw a very good out for the series,” Robert stated.

As Diane prepares to deal with topical issues such as Roe vs. Wade, voting rights, and the possibility of an impending civil war, she will be joined by some familiar faces from The Good Wife including Carrie Preston and Alan Cummings. However, it seems as though Julianna Margulies is still not on the cast list.

“There’s one thing we should say, never say never but I don’t think so,” Robert said of Alicia making an appearance. “We’ve been in touch with Julianna and Josh [Charles] just as friends and I think they are committed to work with each other on other stuff we’re doing, [but] I don’t think it necessarily will be on this.”

The final season of The Good Fight is scheduled to premiere on September 8.
