The acclaimed director Ali Abbasi is plotting his first English feature film, and its cast is shaping up to be amazing. Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Strong, and Maria Bakalova will star in the upcoming biopic The Apprentice about young Donald Trump’s rise to prominence.

The Apprentice will center on the former president Trump years before he became a household name. The film will focus on a mentor-protege story that centers on Trump’s relationship with infamous attorney Roy Cohn, who helped him build his business empire in New York City during the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Marvel star Sebastian Stan will portray the young Donald Trump, Succession’s Jeremy Strong will join him as Cohn, while the Oscar nominee Bakalova will play Trump’s first wife Ivana. Gabriel Sherman wrote the script, while Ali Abbasi (Holy Spider) is coming on board as a director, and production is already underway.

Sebastian Stan most recently received an Emmy and Golden Globe nod for portraying Tommy Lee in Pam & Tommy and went on to play supporting roles in Sharper and Dumb Money. Strong is fresh off starring in the final season of Succession, while Bakalova joined the MCU as the voice of Cosmo the Space Dog in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 earlier this year.
