See “Ghostbusters: Afterlife” First Look

Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis in "Ghostbusters"

The first look at Ghostbusters: Afterlife is finally here.

Vanity Fair released a series of first-look images and plot details on Friday revealing that the new film from director Jason Reitman, son of original Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, is officially titled Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

The announcement also confirms that the upcoming film is a continuation of the original films and not the female-led reboot from 2016. Afterlife “is a new adventure that connects back to the Manhattan Crossrip of 1984,” said Reitman.

The film stars Carrie Coon as Callie with Mckenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard as her children. In the new film, Callie’s father was one of the original Ghostbusters and now her kids must decide whether or not to join the family business when they move to a property in a small Oklahoma town they inherit.

“As the family arrives at an old farm, they begin to discover their connection to the original Ghostbusters,” Reitman added.
