Selena Gomez made an epic comeback with her self-love anthem “Lose You to Love Me” and managed to create so much buzz with this song that it didn’t take her long to climb to the top of the Billboard 100 chart.

“Lose You to Love Me” was originally released on October 23rd, and it debuted at no. 15 in the US but reached no. 1 only a week later. Gomez never had a no. 1 single in the past, and the closest she came to reaching it was back in 2015, when “Same Old Love” peaked at no. 5.

Selena Gomez used this emotional song to tease her upcoming third studio album and explained she drew inspiration from everything that went on in her life since her last record Revival came out four years ago.

“This song was inspired by many things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself,” wrote the singer on YouTube.
