It’s been a while since Selena Gomez surprised her fans with some new music, but she decided to end summer on a high note. She dropped a music video for her girl power anthem “Single Soon”, which sees her having the best night ever with her BFFs.

Gomez teased her new single last week, and described it as “a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.” This breakup anthem is all about embracing your freedom after ditching your ex, and the Rare Beauty founder thanked her fans for supporting it.

“Thank you guys for all the love on ‘Single Soon’!!! It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to!” she wrote on Instagram.

The music video for “Single Soon” was directed by Philip Andelman, and it sees the singer having the time of her life with her friends following a breakup – from dancing and singing karaoke to driving in a limo and swimming in a pool.

“Single Soon” has been released as a stand-alone single, and Gomez felt now was the perfect time to share it because she’s not ready to release her next studio album just yet. She previously told Vanity Fair this record will explore “freedom” and described it as “really powerful, strong, very pop.”
