Selena Gomez found success as an actress, producer, brand ambassador, and entrepreneur, but most people know her as a musician. That could change in the future since she recently admitted that she’s considering retirement from music.

The former Disney star discussed her career trajectory in a recent cover story for Vogue and said it’s hard to keep doing music when people don’t necessarily take you seriously.

“I think there are a lot of people who enjoy my music, and for that, I’m so thankful, for that I keep going, but I think the next time I do an album it’ll be different. I want to give it one last try before I maybe retire music,” explained Gomez.

The 28-year-old singer cited the release of her hit single “Lose You to Love Me” as a turning point because she felt it was the best song she’s ever released, but it still wasn’t good enough for some people. “Lose You to Love Me” was featured on her third solo studio album Rare, and it became her first no. 1 single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
