Selena Gomez broke into the mainstream with the role of a teenage witch on Wizards of Waverly Place, and her latest music video for new single “Boyfriend” sees her going back to her roots and conjuring some magic to get what she wants.

Gomez used this track to tease the release of the deluxe edition of her album Rare, which came out on April 9th and gave us several tracks we haven’t heard before. “Boyfriend” is one of them, and the singer called it “a lighthearted song” about falling in love over and over again, while also knowing you can be happy on your own.

The enchanting music video for her latest single was directed by Matty Peacock, and it sees Gomez going on a series of dates in the search for a perfect man. Since she fails to find one, the singer uses a mysterious potion to turn her dates into frogs and drive off into the night.

“Boyfriend” was released as the fourth single from the singer’s third studio album Rare, following “Lose You to Love Me”, “Look at Her Now”, and “Rare”.
