American Crime Story actress, Selma Blair, might want to consider a comedy as her next project. That’s after the “joke” she made regarding friend and fellow actress, Cameron Diaz.

The pair starred together in The Sweetest Thing back in 2002, and have maintained a strong friendship ever since.

During an interview with Metro News UK, Selma said, “I had lunch with Cameron the other day. We were reminiscing about the film. I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron’s retired from acting. She’s like ‘I’m done.’”

Cameron last appeared on screen as Hannigan in the 2014 remake of Annie, and the following year got married to Good Charlotte frontman, Benji Madden.

It appears, however, as if Selma may have gotten the wrong taste of the situation, as she has now had to clarify her remarks.

“I was making a joke in an interview,” the 45-year-old wrote on Twitter. “Cameron Diaz is not retiring from anything.”

Selma did jokingly confirm, however, that she is retiring as Cameron’s spokesperson.

Poor Selma. We’re sure it wasn’t done with “cruel intentions”.
