Serena Williams has given birth! The tennis star and her Reddit co-founder beau are overjoyed to become parents. The couple welcomed their daughter, who weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces, in Florida.
“[Serena’s] very good at a lot of things and well on her way to being an awesome mom too. I’ll be taking off for six weeks myself and trying to do the best job possible as a new dad, a first-time dad,” Ohania told CNBC’s Squawk Box.

Serena and Alexis decided to name their daughter something traditional, and kept things in the family, so to speak. Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. was named after her dad, Alexis, of course!
“With its relation to Mount Olympus, home of the Greek gods, and to the Olympic games, this name has an athletic, goddess-like aura,” according to Name Berry. The couple set up an Instagram account for their little one straight away. The account, dubbed Olympia Ohanian, suggests that they will call their baby “Olympia.”

Serena Williams definitely wasn’t expecting to get pregnant, that’s for sure. She had been training for the Australian Open when she started to feel ill. Her friend encouraged her to take a pregnancy test and it was positive. Her first thoughts?
“Oh my God, this can’t be—I’ve got to play a tournament. How am I going to play the Australian Open? I had planned on winning Wimbledon this year,” she said. She then took five additional pregnancy tests — and they were all positive.
A few days later, Ohanian arrived in Australia. Williams handed him a bag that contained all of the positive pregnancy tests.
A Fall Wedding Is The Plan

Williams and Ohanian are busy enjoying every moment with their newborn daughter, but they are planning to wed this fall.
“We are still waiting. There was a bridal shower, and after the bridal comes the bachelorette [party], which is not gonna happen right now!” Williams previously told E! News, joking about her baby bump.
The two have not said where they will tie the knot, but many think they will do so in Italy — it’s where they met and where they got engaged, after all.
