It’s a sad day in the city.

Heartfelt tributes have poured in following the death of Sex and the City star Willie Garson.

The actor played Carrie’s best friend Stanford throughout all six seasons of the award-winning show and is set to reprise his role in the forthcoming revival And Just Like That…

The sad news was announced by Garson’s 19-year-old son who confirmed that his father, who was battling pancreatic cancer, had passed away at age 57 following a short illness.

The late actor’s SATC co-stars have eulogized him on social media, with Kim Cattrall (Samantha), Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), Mario Cantone (Anthony), and Evan Handler (Harry) expressing their condolences, as well as the series creator, Michael Patrick King.

Garson’s friendship with SJP translated off-screen, too, as the pair had initially been set up on a blind date 20 years before Sex and the City was created.

Rest in peace, Stanny. We’re raising a cosmo in your honor.
