Fans of the iconic show were sent into a frenzy when news of a potential Sex and the City reboot started circling online a few weeks ago, and HBO Max finally confirmed this highly-anticipated project.

The new chapter of the story will be titled And Just Like That… and it will follow Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), and Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) as they navigate love and friendship in New York in their 50s. Kim Cattrall will not return to play Samantha Jones in the revival.

Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max, announced the project in an official statement and painted a pretty exciting picture about its future.

“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor, and the beloved city that has always defined them,” stated Aubrey.

The Sex and the City revival is expected to start filming in New York in late spring. It will consist of 10 half-hour episodes, and Parker, Davis, and Nixon will serve as executive producers along with Michael Patrick King who served as a director, writer, and executive producer of the original series.
