Netflix’s hugely popular teen drama/comedy Sex Education will roll out season three sooner than we expected. The streamer announced that new episodes of the show are arriving on September 17th while also sharing the first official trailer for the third season.

The trailer hints at some massive changes happening at Moordale High in the new school year. The most notable one is the arrival of new Headmistress Hope Haddon, played by Jemima Kirke, who wants to get Mordale “back on track” and change its “sex school” reputation.

The clip also shows how our heroes Otis (Asa Butterfield), Maeve (Emma Mackey), Eric (Ncuti Gatwa), Adam (Connor Swindells), and others deal with their own issues while trying to navigate Haddon’s new policies. This includes Otis seemingly shifting his attention to someone else after giving up on Maeve, while Eric and Adam finally become official.

The core cast of Sex Education is receiving some strong addition for season three. Besides Kirke, the new episodes will also feature Jason Isaacs as Adam’s uncle and recording artist Dua Saleh’s television debut as non-binary student Cal Bowman.

Since its premiere in 2019, Sex Education emerged as one of Netflix’s most popular original series. The show immediately became a hit with the audience while also attracting glaring reviews from the critics.
