Sex Education star Simone Ashley will be leading the second season of Bridgerton.
Ashley will star opposite Jonathan Bailey’s Anthony Bridgerton, playing his romantic interest, Kate Sharma. Kate is new to London and she’s a strong, independent woman who Anthony has trouble winning over.
The second season of the series will focus on Anthony, the eldest Bridgerton, and his pursuit of marriage, which follows Julia Quinn’s second book in the series, The Viscount Who Loved Me.
The first season of the show was Netflix’s most-watched original series to date and it made its leads Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor, a household name.
Bridgerton‘s first season also stars Nicola Coughlan, Claudia Jessie, Ruby Barker, Adjoa Andoh, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, Luke Newton, Ruby Stokes, Will Tilston, Florence Hunt, Ruth Gemmell, Bessie Carter, Harriet Cains, Polly Walker, Ben Miller, Sabrina Bartlett, Martins Imhangbe, Lorraine Ashbourne, and Julie Andrews.
Ashley is best known for her role as Olivia in Sex Education. She’s also starred in The Sister, A Working Mom’s Nightmare, Casualty, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, and Broadchurch.
