Shailene Woodley recently finished her run on HBO’s hit show Big Little Lies, and she already has several exciting projects lined up. The young actress just landed one of the key roles in the upcoming crime drama After Exile.

This promising project, set to be directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Jobs), tells the story of an ex-con who’s trying to go back to his old life after eight years in prison, and help his father save his younger brother from going down the same criminal path.

Shia LaBeouf and Robert De Niro will take on the lead roles, with Woodley playing the part of a childhood friend of LaBeouf’s character, who’s trying to rekindle their relationship after he comes back home from prison.

The list of upcoming movies on Woodley’s agenda also includes Drake Doremus’ drama Endings, Beginnings and the lead role in Damián Szifron’s Misanthrope. She’s also set to voice the titular character in animated movie Arkie by Passion Pictures Australia.
