Shawn Mendes is one of the artists who made the end of 2020 a little bit better by giving us a brand-new album. His latest studio effort Wonder easily topped the Billboard 200 chart, becoming his fourth no. 1 album in the U.S.

With 89,000 equivalent album units sold during its first week on the chart, Wonder soared to the top spot, beating the former number one albums by Bad Bunny and Ariana Grande. This marks Mendes’s fourth time at no. 1 in the U.S.—his previous LPs Handwritten, Illuminate, and Shawn Mendes all topped the Billboard 200 in the past.

Wonder was announced in late September, and Mendes described it as a “world and a journey and a dream and an album I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time” in a social media post announcing its release.

The album was proceeded by the lead single “Wonder” and a Justin Bieber collaboration “Monster”. It came out on December 4th, and “Call My Friends” was announced as the third single alongside the album release. In addition to 14 songs from the album, there are two additional tracks on the holiday deluxe edition, including “The Christmas Song” with Camila Cabello.
