Members of the Gallagher family have been entertaining us with their crazy shenanigans for nine glorious seasons and they’re showing no signs of stopping. Showtime recently announced they’re bringing Shameless back for another season.
The renewal of this hit show isn’t the only big surprise the network prepared for its fans. Cameron Monaghan, who announced his departure from the series midway through last year, will be back to playing fan favorite Ian Gallagher.
Gary Levine, president of entertainment at Showtime, couldn’t wait to share the amazing news with fans, who’ve been religiously following this series since 2011.
“The Gallaghers are a force of nature, and they are coming back. Shameless, with its ever-growing fan base, is like no other show on television. We are thrilled it will live on with its unique blend of love and larceny on Showtime,” said Levine.
Mid-season premiere of Season 9 took place on January 20, and Showtime is hoping its follow-up will air later this year.
