Having Simon Pegg and J.K. Simmons in the same movie sounds like comedy gold – and that’s exactly what we’ll be getting in My Only Sunshine. The upcoming heist movie will see this hilarious duo starring opposite each other for the first time.
According to the film’s official logline, My Only Sunshine tells the story of a passionately dysfunctional couple who stage a bank robbery as an unconventional act of marriage counseling and use the violent hostage situation to try to make peace with the shocking mystery of their relationship.
J.T. Petty and K. Reed Petty wrote the script for this intriguing heist comedy, set to be directed by Mark Palansky, whose previous credits include Penelope and Rememory. XYZ Films will handle the sales, and they intend to introduce it to potential buyers at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival.
Both Pegg and Simmons have a long list of projects lined up right now, both in the post- and pre-production, and it’s still unclear when exactly will they start shooting My Only Sunshine.
