Sinead O’Connor is no more.

At least by that name.

The “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer has announced that she will be changing her name following her conversion to Islam.

The 51-year-old was raised in Ireland as a Roman Catholic and in the late ’90s became ordained as a priest.

She previously spoke about how her Christian faith had given her the strength to live through and overcome the effects of her child abuse.

In a recent tweet, Sinead announced to her fans that she had undergone a conversion to Islam and would be known by a new moniker.

“This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim. This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian’s journey. All scripture study leads to Islam. Which makes all other scriptures redundant. I will be given (another) new name. It will be Shuhada’ [Davitt],” she wrote.
