The Oscar-winning filmmaker Taylor Hackford is currently plotting his next movie Sniff, and its cast is as impressive as it gets. This promising neo-noir film is set to star Oscar winners Morgan Freeman, Al Pacino, Helen Mirren, and Oscar nominee Danny DeVito.

Sniff takes place at a high-end luxury retirement community, where two residents died under suspicious circumstances. The title of the film stands as an acronym for Senior Nursing Institute & Family Foundation, and it follows the adventures of a retired detective (Freeman) and his former partner (DeVito) as they try to solve this crime.

This exciting project will launch worldwide sales at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival, and it’s been described as a stylish reinvention of the film noir genre. Adam Goodman, whose producing the film alongside Matt Skiena through their Dichotomy Creative Group, is hoping Sniff will hit the theaters in the fourth quarter of 2022 and give the veteran audience a good reason to hit the theaters.

“Adult audiences are wildly underserved right now, and it feels like there is a great opportunity here. This film can play broadly but it can be a real event for that community. We really haven’t seen this type of cast since the Ocean’s Eleven movies,” Goodman told Deadline.
