We will have to wait until summer to get a new MCU movie, but that doesn’t mean we won’t have any new superhero flicks to watch in the meantime. The first trailer for Sony/Marvel’s Madame Web is here and it stars Dakota Johnson as a paramedic with the ability to see the future.

According to the film’s official synopsis, Madame Web tells the standalone origin story of Cassandra Webb, a paramedic in Manhattan who may have clairvoyant abilities. She forges a relationship with three young women destined for powerful futures, but they must first survive a deadly present.

In addition to Dakota Johnson in the titular role, Madame Web will also star Isabela Merced as Anya Corazon aka Araña, Sydney Sweeney as Julia Carpenter, and Celeste O’Connor as Mattie Franklin, two future incarnations of Spider-Woman. They’ll be joined by Tahar Rahim, Mike Epps, Emma Roberts, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet.

Despite being based on Marvel comics, Madame Web won’t be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Columbia Pictures and Di Bonaventura Pictures developed it in collaboration with Marvel, while Sony Pictures will be in charge of distributing it. After several release date shifts, its premiere is now set for February 14, 2024.
