Game of Thrones may be full of epic twists, but it’s nothing compared to Sophie Turner’s real life. In an incredible turn of events that no one saw coming, the young actress tied the knot with Joe Jonas in Las Vegas.
News of their wedding took everyone by surprise because fans of the couple expected they’ll follow in the footsteps of Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra and have an extravagant ceremony. Sophie and Joe apparently weren’t in the mood for all that fuss and decided that Vegas is the perfect place to tie the knot.
They were married by an Elvis impersonator, with Diplo serving as their wedding photographer and sharing parts of the ceremony on his Instagram stories. It’s the most millennial celebrity wedding in recent memory, and it was obvious that Sophie and Joe had a blast.
The couple started dating in 2016 and got engaged a year later.
The Game of Thrones actress discussed getting engaged at an early age in a cover story with Rolling Stone and said she feels mature enough to take this step. “I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know. I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know. I’ve met enough guys to know – I’ve met enough girls to know,” explained Sophie Turner.
