SpongeBob SquarePants is one of the cornerstones of Nickelodeon’s programming, and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. The beloved animated show is still going strong over two decades later, and it’s just been renewed for its 15th season.

SpongeBob SquarePants premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999, and its milestone 25th anniversary is just around the corner. Bringing it back for another round was a no-brainer for Nickelodeon since it’s one of the flagship shows on their network and on the streaming service Paramount+, where Seasons 1-12 are available.

Season 15 of SpongeBob SquarePants will feature a total of 26 episodes, and it will bring the show’s total to 345 episodes. All the major voice cast members are expected to return, including Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), and Mr. Lawrence (Plankton).

In addition to becoming somewhat of a cult classic and being Nickelodeon’s most-watched animated series for 21 consecutive years, SpongeBob SquarePants spawned its own cinematic universe. It has two ongoing spin-offs: The Patrick Star Show on Nickelodeon and Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years on Paramount+, in addition to producing three SpongeBob theatrical films and inspiring a Broadway musical.
