The OG superhero has gone to a more peaceful place…

The attorney for Stan Lee’s family has confirmed that the comic book creator has passed away at the age of 95.

Over the last year, the California native had not been in the best health, having suffered pneumonia and other illnesses. He was reportedly rushed from his Hollywood Hills home to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in the early hours of the morning, before passing away at the hospital.

Lee is responsible for bringing us Spider-Man, the Incredible Hulk, Black Panther, and dozens of other Marvel characters.

Stars and filmmakers who previously worked with Lee have paid their respects to the comic book writer who inspired so many. Chris Evans who played Captain America said there will never be another Stan Lee, while Deadpool star, Ryan Reynolds, thanked the late author for everything. Wolverine actor, Hugh Jackman, called Lee a pioneering force in the superhero universe.

Baby Driver director, Edgar Wright, thanked Lee for inspiring so many to express themselves.

Star of The Disaster Artist, Seth Rogen, recognised Lee for helping those who are different.

And even rival comics company, DC Comics, paid tribute to the legend.

Excelsior!
