Fans of the HBO Max show Minx were gutted after the streamer announced its cancelation, but the acclaimed series quickly found a new home. Starz stepped in to save the canceled series, and they’re bringing both Season 1 & 2 to their premium network.

Minx premiered on HBO Max in early 2022 and it centers on a young feminist writer who reluctantly joins forces with a low-rent publisher to create the first erotic magazine for women. The series is led by Ophelia Lovibond and Jake Johnson, with Michael Angarano, Jessica Lowe, Oscar Montoya, Lennon Parham, and Idara Victor in supporting roles.

HBO Max renewed the series two months after its premiere, only to cancel it in December. Season 2 was already in the final week of production at the time and it wrapped up on December 18, 2022, before Starz swooped in to save the show.

Jeffrey Hirsch, president and CEO for Starz, announced their decision to pick up Minx, saying they felt this show would be a perfect fit for their brand, considering their dedication to narratives by, about, and for women.

“Starz is proud to be the new home for this incredible show that has drawn in well-deserved critical acclaim. We’re excited to welcome Ellen and the talented Minx team to the network and can’t wait to bring its passionate fans the second season,” said Hirsch.
