The first season of Blindspotting proved to be somewhat of a critical darling, and Starz isn’t letting go of it anytime soon. The acclaimed dramedy has been renewed for Season 2.

Blindspotting is based on the 2018 film of the same name, but it puts focus on a different group of characters. Instead of exploring the volatile friendship between Collin (Daveed Diggs) and Miles (Rafael Casal), the series shifts focus on Miles’ partner Ashley (Jasmine Cephas Jones), who’s forced to move in with his family with her son after his arrest.

The series also stars Benjamin Earl Turner, Atticus Woodward, Jaylen Barron, Candace Nicholas-Lippman, and Helen Hunt.

Casal and Diggs, who created Blindspotting after playing lead roles in the original film, released an official statement thanking their partners at Starz and Lionsgate for the renewal, adding they’re looking forward to things to come.

“We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for season one and have been hard at work for the last few months crafting the next chapter of this Bay story. We are so excited to bring the next season to life with the incredible artistry of our cast and crew,” said the duo.
