Suits experienced a true renaissance since becoming available on streaming services and returned to No. 1 on Nielsen’s list time and time again. It broke Nielsen’s all-time overall streaming record with 12th week on top, surpassing the record previously held by Ozark.

Suits originally aired on USA Network between 2011 and 2019, and it centered on a brilliant college dropout Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who gets hired by the successful attorney Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) to work as his associate despite not having a law degree.

The series also starred Rick Hoffman, Meghan Markle, Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres, Amanda Schull, Dulé Hill, and Katherine Heigl. It marked Markle’s final role before she became a British royal, and that’s one of the reasons behind its renewed success, along with its addictive storylines and Netflix algorithms that put it back on top.

Suits is the only show to top Nielsen’s weekly list for 12 weeks since they started reporting top 10s in 2020, breaking the record previously held by Ozark with 11 weeks. Even its creator Aaron Korsh was surprised by this success, and he commented on Deadline’s original news story by writing, “I always thought we were underestimated, but it turns out, even I underestimated Suits. It’s good to be the King.”
