16 years have passed since FOX canceled Firefly and 14 years since the movie Serenity wrapped the plot up but the fans of Joss Weadon’s unique sci-fi western series are still wondering if it will ever come back. ComicBook.com reports that one of the leading actors of the show, Summer Glau, said she is torn about bringing the show back.

Speaking in FAN EXPO Canada, the actress who played River Tam said that part of the show’s magic comes from the fact that it didn’t last and that the fans are the ones keeping it alive. “I’ve loved all of the different interpretations that you guys have come up with, a lot of the fanfiction and the comic books, I think those have been beautiful ways of continuing the story,” said Glau.

The actress said that she is not sure a continuation will be able to repeat the success of Firefly. “There’s a little part of me that wonders if we would recapture what it is we all love about it so much.” However, Glau said that if such a reboot or a sequel to the show will take place she will want to be a part of it. “And of course, if there was ever any kind of reboot, I would be there with bells on. I wouldn’t be able to stay away.”
